AIM Program Changes
2007/2008 AIM Application and Handbook
The information in the 2007/2008 AIM Application and Handbook, including county plan choices and plan coverage areas, will remain in effect until further notice.
Subscribers whose application for enrollment in AIM is received on or after July 1, 2008
If your pregnancy ends after your effective date of coverage, but still within your first trimester, your subscriber contribution amount may be reduced to 1/3 of the original cost. To qualify for this lower cost, you need to notify the AIM Program within 30 days of the date that you were no longer pregnant.
You must complete the Early End of Pregnancy Form
here
or send a letter from a doctor or other licensed or certified health care professional, as long as it contains the same information. Your AIM coverage will still end 60 days after the end of your pregnancy. AIM cannot cover any medical services you receive after the 60th day from the end of your pregnancy.
Registration and Enrollment of Babies in the HFP
Infants are automatically eligible for the Healthy Families Program unless they are enrolled in employer-sponsored insurance or no-cost Medi-Cal. Enrollment can occur at any time through the end of the eleventh month following the birth and will be retroactive back to the date of birth, as long as the infant is not enrolled in employer-sponsored insurance or no-cost Medi-Cal and all past month's premiums are paid. If the enrollment of the baby does not occur by the specified timeframe, the baby is no longer eligible for enrollment, through the AIM related process, and must re-apply for HFP.
